About Us
Flipz was opened in September of 2004 as a fully-equipped recreation and competitive gymnastics gym. After enjoying many years of success with traditional gymnastics instruction and competition, Flipz now offers gymnastics-based fitness classes. Our classes use traditional gymnastics equipment including vault, bars, beams and tumbling surfaces, but also incorporate fun, movement-based fitness through physical learning.
Robyn James is the founder of Flipz. She has over 30 years of gymnastics coaching experience in Colorado, Washington, Texas, Alabama, California, and New Hampshire. She previously owned and operated two gymnastics gyms in Northern California for eleven years. She has built successful gymnastics programs by encouraging children of all ages to achieve their goals and by providing a safe, fun environment for learning. Robyn now teaches all preschool and recreational classes with her daughter Jordan.
Jordan Grant joined her mother Robyn at Flipz in August of 2023 as the business manager. Jordan was a competitive gymnast in both California and New Hampshire throughout her childhood. She also played basketball and soccer through high school and was both a collegiate basketball and soccer player at Franklin Pierce University and the University of Southern Maine. She is now coaching varsity girls basketball at Bedford High School. Jordan also has 10 years of experience working in childhood education and has now started her own family, welcoming her first daughter, June, in November of 2023. She is excited to be working with her mother at Flipz!
